Château Cap de Mourlin 1996 in a box of 6 magnums

600,00

The Capdemourlin family has owned property in Saint-Emilion for four hundred years, as evidenced by a wine sale dating from 1647.

She has, exceptionally, given her name to the place where she lives as well as to her vineyard, one of the oldest of Saint-Emilion. In 1983, Jacques Capdemourlin, the current owner, reconstituted the farm, which had been divided between his father and his uncle for a long time. Important renovation works have been carried out for the best of the technology at the service of the vinification and the breeding of this vintage (construction of a vat room, an air-conditioned room reserved for the malolactic fermentation and a barrel cellar).

The vineyard of 14 hectares of vines is ideally located on the northern slopes of Saint-Emilion, where it benefits from a clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soil. The wine of Château Cap de Mourlin is distinguished by its generosity combined with a great finesse and a very developed bouquet which make it one of the most esteemed wines of Saint-Emilion.

After a traditional vinification, the wine is aged in new oak barrels, half of which are renewed each year. Combining respect for the terroir, tradition and ever more advanced technology, Balestard La Tonnelle offers a wine of extreme elegance, generous, to be placed among the most Classified Growths of Saint-Emilion.
